Instant water heater: units per month in Pakistan
Short answer. An instant heater draws around 4,500 watts but only while water is flowing. Fifteen minutes of use a day is about 1.1 units daily and 34 units a month — dramatically less than a storage geyser left on, because there is no tank to keep warm.

High power, low energy
This is the clearest illustration on the site of the difference between power and energy. An instant heater's power draw is more than twice a storage geyser's, and its monthly energy consumption is a fraction of it.
Nothing is wasted on standby because nothing is stored. Every unit consumed corresponds to hot water somebody actually used.
The wiring caveat
Four and a half kilowatts through domestic wiring is not trivial. It needs an adequately rated dedicated circuit and a properly sized breaker, and a household running one alongside an air conditioner and a pump can approach or exceed its sanctioned load.
Installing one on an existing lighting or general power circuit is a genuine fire risk, and it is a common shortcut.
Where it disappoints
Flow rate is the limit. An instant heater raises the temperature of whatever passes through it by a fixed amount for a given power, so in a cold January with cold inlet water the achievable outlet temperature at a comfortable flow drops noticeably.
For a single bathroom with modest flow it is excellent. For filling a bath or serving two outlets at once it is the wrong device.
How to use less
- Use a low-flow shower head — the heater's consumption is proportional to flow, so this reduces it directly.
- Keep showers short; unlike a geyser, every extra minute is a full-power minute.
- Site it close to the outlet. Long pipe runs waste both the water and the heat drawn while waiting.
- Have the circuit checked by an electrician before installation, not after.

Is an instant heater cheaper than a geyser in Pakistan?
For short, individual use, substantially — a fraction of the monthly units because there is no standby loss. For a household drawing large volumes of hot water, a well-timed storage geyser can be more practical.
Will it trip my breaker?
It will if it shares a circuit with other significant loads. It needs its own adequately rated circuit, and that is not an optional refinement at this power level.
