Along the top of any QESCO bill you still have, in the box marked "Reference No." or "Consumer Reference" — between 10 and 14 digits. It belongs to the meter rather than to you or to one statement, so it stays the same month after month, and it is the only key PITC accepts when returning your duplicate.
No — and no other tool can either, because PITC indexes bills by reference number and holds no CNIC lookup at all. If every old bill is gone, the number is also printed in QESCO's billing SMS, and the QESCO helpline will read it back to you once they have verified the account.
They are. Your reference is sent to bill.pitc.com.pk and whatever comes back is displayed as-is — no figure is recalculated, no line is rewritten. It is the same document a QESCO service counter would hand you. As with any bill, read the amounts against your own records before paying.
In practice it is one of five causes. Consumption went up, and in this region cooling and water heating dominate that. NEPRA applied a positive Fuel Price Adjustment. Yes, and no paper needs to change hands — the reference number is the only thing a payment app asks for. JazzCash, Easypaisa, NayaPay, SadaPay and the mainstream banking apps all take it. Keep the transaction ID until you see the payment reflected on a later bill.

Treat the reference as account-sensitive anyway — on its own it is enough to view your bill.
A few seconds under normal conditions. The variable is PITC's response time, not anything here — around monthly billing dates the government portal slows noticeably. If a lookup returns nothing, read the digits back against the printed QESCO bill before retrying, because a single transposed figure produces an empty result rather than an error.

Above that you are unprotected and pay the full tariff, and the difference between the two is substantial. Your QESCO bill prints which one applies. A fixed monthly charge for the meter hardware itself, where it applies to your connection. On the QESCO duplicate it sits with the energy and tax lines, and it does not move with how much you consume.
Late Payment Surcharge — the amount added once the due date on your QESCO bill has gone by. It is why the bill prints two totals: the figure payable in time and the larger one after. Settle against the first and the second is never charged.
The alert can miss for something as ordinary as an out-of-date mobile number on the account, or a network hiccup. Either way, the reference number pulls the bill up here regardless. It is worth ringing QESCO to correct the registered number so later cycles do reach you.
Yes, as long as the PITC server is reachable from where you are. Some overseas ISPs and VPN exit nodes are blocked by Pakistani government portals — if the bill refuses to load, switching networks or turning the VPN off almost always fixes it.
On a Time-of-Use meter in QESCO territory the expensive band typically runs 7 PM to 11 PM, with everything outside it billed off-peak. Shifting cooling, ironing and laundry out of that window is where the money is saved. On a standard meter the time of day has no effect on the bill at all.

What you can do instead: save the PDF every month so you build your own history; read the arrears line on the current bill, which reflects anything unpaid from earlier cycles; and for a formal record going further back, request a ledger statement from your QESCO subdivision office, which does hold it.
To check whether a payment landed, look at the current bill rather than the old one. A payment made against the previous cycle shows up as a cleared balance with no arrears carried forward. Until the next cycle is generated, your transaction ID from JazzCash, Easypaisa or your bank is the proof — keep it.

So there is no difference in the bill itself — the amount, the due date and the FPA line are identical whichever route you take. The difference is only in getting there: no navigation through a corporate site, and a form built for a phone screen. Anything that touches your account rather than your bill — a metering fault, a disputed reading, a new connection, a name change — has to go through QESCO directly, and the QESCO complaint routes and helplines are listed here.

Entering a reference number on the wrong company’s page returns nothing, which looks like a broken tool but is usually just a mismatch. Your distribution company is fixed by where the meter is, and the name is printed at the top of the bill. If you are in Quetta or nearby you are almost certainly on the right page; otherwise pick from the full list of companies — and note that Karachi is served by K-Electric, which runs a separate billing system that no PITC-based lookup can reach.
